Are toners really necessary?

Updated: Apr 10, 2023

Saima’s #producttalk of the week:

People ask me all the time “why do you recommend using a toner?”

A lot of people have this misconception around toners that they dry out your skin and are normally used for oily/acneic skin.

Where in the 90s and earlier toners were just that, they have come a long way. Toners used to be the dreaded part of skin care and now they have become one of my most loved part of the skin care routine.

Here is why:

🌻 They help remove last traces of debris and makeup

🌻 They help balance out skin’s PH levels

🌻 They can help hydrate and calm your skin

🌻 They can be used as acne fighting products with certain ingredients to curb acne bacteria

🌻 Add more water content and essential nutrients to your skin

🌻 And my most favourite: they reduce the use of my moisturizer and less clogging in the long run

My fav toner of the week is @gloskinbeauty Calming Flower Mist $40 (pick your today at Freya)

Calming Flower Mist facial mist provides instant cooling relief with a unique blend of

“soothing essential oils”

“Free of fragrance and dyes”

“designed to calm and hydrate even the most sensitive skin”

“Prepares skin for the optimal benefits of serum and moisturizer application”

Directions

After cleansing, lightly mist face with Calming Flower Mist as needed. Follow with your fav Serum and Moisturizer for best result.
